About the poem
Faiz Ahmed Faiz wrote ‘Philistini Bachhe Ke Liye Lori’, A lullaby for a Palestinian child - in response to Israeli gunships bombing civilians and refugee camps in the 1980s.

It traces the journey of a child who has lost her loved ones to war, a narrative all too relevant today around the world.
In essence, this poem reveals the great depths of loss and grief. And hope.
